Claridge’s Hotel, situated in London’s Mayfair, is famous for its iconic art deco décor. However, in January 2015 water began to rise from a service drain and caused the floor of the technical services office to be flooded – not for the first time. Keen to stop this from happening again, Mark Gilham from the hotel’s Technical Operations contacted us to see if we could provide a solution.
“I searched and found Flood Ark on Google and thought that’s exactly what we need. I took up the offer of a free survey and the system was demonstrated.
The fitters did a neat and tidy job and I was shown how to use the flood boards. What we didn’t expect was to have to use the system so soon. The incident happened on the last Sunday in February, unlike the drain this was totally unforeseen, a mains water pipe supplying the boiler room burst.
One of the engineering team deployed our flood boards and the Technical Operations office was completely protected, we had 6” of water through. The whole episode only lasted 40 minutes but valuable equipment was saved, the Flood Ark did its job brilliantly.”Lowestoft, Suffolk Steventon, Oxfordshire
