The valve is designed to be retro-fit to existing pipework. It allows the flow of waste water from your home but prevents all flow in the opposite direction. Its primary purpose is to prevent flood water flowing back up the pipe and entering your home through the toilet and plugholes. The gravity activated flap has a stainless-steel plate moulded into the body of the flap that also provides vermin resistance.
Under normal conditions, the SMART airbrick acts as a standard airbrick allowing unrestricted airflow underneath the property. Under flood conditions, the innovative patented design uses the rising water to automatically close the aperture – inhibiting water’s access through the airbricks and preventing flooding underneath your property.
